The Lincoln Area YMCA is a non-profit organization governed by a local board
and committees that represent the interests of its members. The YMCA is not
tax-supported. Its support comes from its members, business sponsors and the
fund-raising activities of its friends. Lincoln YMCA is a non-facility YMCA
doing programs throughout the community.
The YMCA's activities are distinguished by their emphasis on character
development - promoting through instruction, expectation and example the
four-core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Program membership in the Lincoln Area YMCA is a special privilege, available to all
families who share the Y's philosophy and wish to participate in its programs.
Program membership in the Lincoln Area YMCA is required for participation in its
recreational programs, summer camp, preschool, and before and after school
programs.
Program membership in the YMCA is $33 per family per year. This fee is assessed the first time in a calendar year that a family member registers for a YMCA program. Each family is placed on the YMCA's mailing list for information about programs and receives seasonal program flyers and more regarding YMCA program/event opportunities.
