Financial Assistance

The Lincoln Area YMCA is considered, according to law, a charitable organization. Our practice is, "no person shall be denied participation in YMCA programs solely by reason of inability to pay the prescribed program fees." Anyone not able to pay the full fee may be awarded partial Financial Assistance based on their demonstrated ability to pay. Family income guidelines are used to assess fees as well as each family's individual circumstances (some considerations might include high medical bills, recent change in family status, or other circumstances which change the financial picture of the family. Normal living costs are not considered such as house payments, car payments, etc.). Rarely is a full scholarship awarded because the YMCA believes a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed if a financial assistance recipient has contributed to the cost of his/her YMCA involvement. Therefore, applicants must provide some form of proof of income or need such as last year's tax statement, current paycheck stubs, SSI allocation statement, state assistance, or unemployment earnings statement.
